We all are creating our own versions of happily ever after.  Your first year together can be a great foundation that will change and adapt as the years pass.  Although the first years are said to be the most difficult, they are often remembered as the most joyous. They can be a tremendous time of intimacy and discovery. There is so much to learn about one another and so much to express to one another.
Newlyweds
Money, who handles it and how is a key issue for many couples. During this period of married life many issues emerge that you thought you had already dealt with before the wedding. Differences in opinion on topics such as time apart versus time together, division of household responsibilities, ways to spend free time, finding time to have sex, dealing with in-laws, understanding differences including spirituality, learning how to deal with conflict, and discussing expectations, even who controls the television remote and the thermostat are just a few of situations you will face.  Erase your preconceived notions of marriage and you can decide what really works for you both, forming a good foundation for the next phases of marriage.
It's normal to find yourself a bit depressed after your wedding. You've both been caught up in exciting wedding preparations that what happens after is a let down. However, it is important to not ignore this low period. Being prepared for the newlywed blues can help you get past them.
