Fall classes offered through LSU LEISURE CLASSES Family Matters & Personal Enrichment. PLANNING YOUR WEDDING Listed under Family Maters & Personal Enrichment. Monday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 pm Planning a wedding? Want to know which wedding gown looks best on you or how to handle the stress of future in-laws during the planning? How do you budget and not waste money on the wrong decisions? What are your responsibilities as a groom? This class will help to answer all your questions, plus give you many ideas on making your wedding unique. Let this class help make your dreams a reality. Join our panel of experts as they discuss and offer their expertise on some of the most critical aspects of wedding planning. Topics will include: How to handle the stress of planning a wedding and your future in-laws; What to ask your florist and why; and Things to watch out for and how to help your wedding professionals help you. Ms. Marquette is a career instructor in Textiles, Apparel Design and Merchandising at LSU. She has a Master's Degree from LSU in Textiles and Apparel and has been on faculty for 25 years. She is the recipient of numerous teaching and design awards. February 26: Location: The Gatehouse, 13469 S. Harrell's Ferry Road, Baton Rouge Guest Speaker: Steven Labens speaking on what to ask your florist and why. Mr. Labens has been the owner of The Cut Flower for 19 years. He is a member of the Society of American Florist. Guest Speaker: Leslie Todd speaking on handling the stress of planning a wedding and your future in-laws. Ms. Todd, LCSW, ACSW, is a clinical social worker in private practice for 15 years. For many years, she wrote a mental health column in The Heart of Baton Rouge and a stepfamily column in Baton Rouge Parents' Magazine. She provides counseling and workshops for families and professionals working with families. March 5: Location: Forrest Grove Plantation, 8743 Stephenson Dr., Denham Springs Guest Speaker: Debby Musso speaking on things to watch out for and how to help your wedding professionals help you. Ms. Musso, a member of Association of Bridal Consultants and Weddings Beautiful Worldwide (a division of National Bridal Service), is the owner of A Perfect Wedding. She is one of Baton Rouge's premier professional bridal consultants and has worked on weddings since 1972. Instructor: Sally Wood Having participated in over a thousand wedding ceremonies and receptions since 1978, Sally Wood understands what works well, what doesn't, and why. As the owner and publisher of "Baton Rouge Brides & Grooms", Sally is now putting that experience to work, creating a new wedding planner and web site specifically for the Baton Rouge area. She understands that a wedding can build a couple's relationship or put undue stress on the beginning of their marriage. Sally has seen too many weddings to believe that there's only one "right" way to have a perfect wedding. With her resources, Sally will help the bride and groom choose the ceremony of their lifetime.
